Now i know that External SCSI Zip Drives work on SGI’s 6.x +, but what
i need to know is if an Internal SCSI zip drive would work.

Actually, when I’m asked, I advise to put an internal SCSI Zip drive in a
3rd party external cabinet. You’ll get standard 50 pin connector and
an active terminator. It results in a better signal handling. If you
are asking for mounting it in a SGI machine, the answer depends on what
you have. The internal Zip was an OEM product and looks like it’s
discontinued but you can still get it by looking around.

So i would venture to say that buying an external zip drive to begin with is
better.
